Interesting times, indeed.... The month of May felt like traveling through
a birth canal. Being squished and overextended, sometimes overwhelmed,
with great pressure all around us. Couldn't see where we were going,
but definitely could feel that we were being propelled somewhere new.
The Repositioning Process continues to
accelerate. This has been happening in several stages. Here's the Timetable:
Intense Internal Sorting Out and Transformation
All year long, we've been getting knocked off our old matrix. Sometimes
this has happened through head injuries and car accidents. These knocks
have caused us to be more honest and true than ever before. We've been
getting really clear with who we really are and learning what still
resonates with us. We've been letting go of many elements of our lives,
such as people, jobs, activities, which don't bring joy or are no longer
aligned with our core beings.
And we've been thinking, thinking, thinking--
our minds going at hyperspeed while sorting and resorting through our
internal memory banks like never before. Thinking, clearing out, moving
stuff around, thinking, re-examining, letting go. With all this overcharged
mental activity, it's impossible to think things out in a logical manner;
there's simply too much to do.
This is an exciting time of discovery;
discovering what we now want and discarding what we no longer want.
Sometimes, we go towards what we thought we wanted only to find that
it no longer has meaning to us.
Releasing Old Preferences
An important part of being receptive to unexpected, new directions is
letting go of old preferences. Being preference free opens us up to
larger breakthroughs since we don't have to inhabit such a rigid old
matrix as before.
To let go of old preferences, we need
to free ourselves from our previous likes and dislikes and start totally
fresh. One simple way we can do this is to start trying some foods which
we've never eaten before or which we previously disliked. And it's all
right if we still don't like them, but at least we were open to giving
them a new chance. Or we can go shopping and try on some clothes totally
out of the scope of what we'd normally be attracted to. Step outside
your old box and experiment. The results may surprise you.
Letting go of old preferences is an important
part of reclaiming our Personal Freedom. It's extremely liberating.
As we unpin ourselves from our past preferences, we are freed to follow
the unexpected promptings into surprising directions that will take
us to our new positionings.
How Does It Feel?
Remember the classic ancient Egyptian initiation with Thoth who carries
a balance scale on which he weighs our heart with a feather? If our
hearts are true, they will be lighter than a feather and we pass the
test. Well, now is the time when we need to weigh everything on that
scale. We can put every element of our lives on Thoth's scale and see
how they balance with our heart.
Try it with your relationships, jobs,
activities, aspirations, etc. and see how they balance with your heart.
If these elements are heavy and joyless, if they've become drudgery
or you're just "going through the motions" with them, then
they will drag the scale downwards. When that happens, we know that
it's time for them to transform.
We really don't need to carry around the
heavy weight of the past with us anymore. It's like those bags of sand
on a hot air balloon. If we want to ascend to a new level, we need to
dump some of that heaviness overboard.
Getting Tossed About in the Tsunamis of Change
The Winds of Change have stirred up the waves creating huge Tsunamis
of Change. Once we enter the Tsunami Zone, there's no turning back.
Actually, there's no turning in any chosen direction for we've lost
any semblance of control. The only way to ride these waves is to totally
surrender and enjoy the wild, unpredictable ride.
Throughout this time, we are experiencing
surprising turns of events. Often something will happen that we tend
to judge as not being positive. If we can let go of the judgment factor,
we will discover that these situations are simply rerouting opportunities
which are leading us into new directions. Ones which we will really
like!
Decisions, Decisions, What to Do?
During the past few months, we have been faced with making important
decisions which we really haven't felt qualified to make. We just don't
have all the needed information to make a well thought out decision.
Besides that, our minds are too busy thinking, thinking about everything
to focus on one single element. In spite of our apparent unreadiness
to make these decisions, they are being forced upon us. So we leap and
grab at an unformed viewpoint, make our decision and sometimes end up
changing it a few weeks later. Even if we hold to our decision, the
outcome is unknown until the last minute when we are finally catapulted
into the results of our action.
Most of the decisions which we are being
forced to make right now are taking us way out of our comfort zones.
They are not based on practicality or logic and throw us deeper into
the unknown. In spite of the vast uncertainty which this brings up,
we need to trust our intuition and allow ourselves to be pushed into
our new positions.
Painting Ourselves into a Corner
All
year long, we've been painting ourselves into a corner. Once we get
into the corner, surrounded by wet paint, we realize that we cannot
go back the way we came. The old way of doing things has come to an
end. Many of our previous goals no longer matter. Much of what we do,
such as our activities and careers have become joyless and heavy. Our
old road has come to an obvious end.
By painting ourselves into the corner,
we've created a Do or Die situation. It's Disaster or Breakthrough Time.
We cannot go backwards since the old road is now covered with wet paint
and cannot take us back to where we used to be. (Not that we would
really want to go back there.) And it's important to remember that
we put ourselves into this untenable position; we painted ourselves
here, just so we would be forced to leap.
Now that we're lodged in the corner with
wet paint all around us, the only way out is to expand the walls or
create a new opening. Otherwise, we move into the Disaster Mode in which
everything falls apart. Our only alternative to disaster is to look
for something new, to search in unexpected directions to find the elements
which make us smile and stir up our sense of creativity. It's the time
to take wild chances and leap out of the box! Even with the destination
unknown.
Relocating, Repositioning Continues
During the months of
June, July and August, many of us will be experiencing massive changes
in our lives. Many of us will be moving to new physical locations, either
going directly to our new positionings or to temporary places where
we will perch for a few months before making our big leap.
Our careers are being strongly affected
as well. It's time to let go of the jobs which don't feed our creativity
and find or create new careers. Often, these new career paths will be
in unanticipated directions. It's a good time to ask ourselves what
we'd REALLY like to do. And then to take the necessary steps to get
there. And it's a great time to prepare to start our own business or
creative endeavor.
Relationships will also be greatly affected
by this repositioning process. We'll be constantly sifting through the
people in our lives and choosing those with integrity and true hearts.
If we don't, then it will soon be a disaster working with them and we'll
learn that we need to be with those who share our true values.
As we emerge from our birth
canal into the light of a very new day and extremely new circumstances,
we will discover that we have gained a new confidence in ourselves.
Whenever we are comfortable with ourselves and with who we are, things
will go smoothly.
In a few months, we will be entering a
period of great creativity when we can finally express the new beings
we're in the process of birthing through new forms of creative expression.
In June we will receive many promptings as to this new direction and
will finally be taking some clear, decisive steps into our new positionings.
